Music Box Films has taken all US rights to Jan Troell’s The Last Sentence (formerly known as Truth & Consequence). The film had its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival and is currently screening in Busan.

TrustNordisk handles sales. Nordisk Film is distributing domestically with a local release date set for Dec 7.

The story is about a Swedish journalist, Torgny Segerstedt, who fought against the Nazi regime. Jesper Christensen and Pernilla August star. Producers are Francy Suntinger for Filmlance with the support of Swedish Film Institute.

“We’ve long admired Jan Troell’s work and its a special privilege to release his 25th film. The Last Sentence struck us as nothing short of a masterpiece by a filmmaker working at the top of his form,” said Music Box Managing Director Edward Arentz.
