Magnolia Films has acquired all US rights from Myriad Pictures to Jacob Tierney’s thriller Good Neighbours.
Jay Baruchel, Scott Speedman and Emily Hampshire star in the film which screens this weekend at the Whistler Film Festival in Canada.
The film tells the story of a serial killer on the loose in the dead of winter and three apartment residents who unwisely take shelter indoors.
Magnolia’s senior vice-president Tom Quinn brokered the deal with Myriad president and CEO Kirk D’Amico and senior vice-president of business affairs David Ducar. Myriad will continue to handle remaining international territories.
“We are very impressed with what Magnolia is doing across their platforms of distribution including theatrical, VOD and DVD,” D’Amico said. They are really pioneering new release patterns with new release windows and pricings. We are so pleased with their enthusiasm and release plans for Good Neighbours.”
