The Toronto-based television producer has launched a film distribution platform to handle worldwide rights headed by vp of movies Marina Cordoni.

Cordoni will be on the ground scouring for product in Park City and is understood to have the backing of a dedicated acquisitions fund.

Breakthrough Entertainment’s pipeline includes thriller Gods Of Accident, drama Dancing On The Edge, romance Coffee, Sex, You, adventure-thriller The Wrong Mr Johnson and comedy-drama Hooked On Speedman.

The company has also secured Canadian rights to the Western Good Day For It starring Robert Patrick, Lance Henrikson and Hal Halbrook.

Cordoni previously held high-level positions at Norstar Filmed Entertainment, PolyGram Filmed Entertainment in the UK and US and Virgin Vision Entertainment in the UK where she was directly involved in international sales on Four Weddings And A Funeral, Fargo and Dead Man Walking, among others.
