Chris Johnson’s VITA strikes a multi-film deal with Fandango.
New UK distributor VITA is launching with an emphasis on releasing contemporary Italian films.
The distribution company’s initial slate includes:
The White Space (Lo Spazio Bianco) by Francesca Comencini
Cosmonauta by Susanna NIcchiarelli,
A Perfect Day (Un Giorno Perfetto) by Ferzan Ozpetek
The Past Is A Foreign Land (Il Passato e Una Terra Straniera) by Daniele Vicari
VITA acquired the films through a multi-title deal with Domenico Procacci’s production-distribution company Fandango.
VITA is founded by Chris Johnson, who noted that eight UK cities have vibrant Italian populations. Johnson said: “I’m delighted this arrangement!Fandango are a consistent force in the production of quality films and a strong partner with a great international reputation and catalogue. Our aim is to take the entertaining and resonant stories that they and Italian cinema regularly provides and offer mulitiple opportunities to view, buy and own these wonderful films… We have very interesting ongoing discussions with potential partners that are excited to be a part of the the Italian Cinema experience VITA is planning to introduce.”
Procacci added: “VITA’scommitment to Italian cinema is great news! I trust they can contribute to increase visibility of these films in a difficult market like UK”.
