The distributor has picked up US rights and will release Taika Waititi’s drama theatrically towards the end of the fourth quarter with Unison Films in association with Radius Films.

Boy premiered at Sundance 2010 and went on to win the audience award at last year’s AFI Fest in Los Angeles.

Newcomer James Rolleston plays an 11-year-old Maori boy in 1984 New Zealand who must reconcile tall stories with reality when his absent albeit lovable father played by Waititi returns home.
