The studio has signed a distribution pact with Lotte Entertainment on all its films in South Korea that will kick off with Mission: Impossible 5.
The long-term deal means Lotte replaces CJ E&M.
Mission: Impossible 5 starring Tom Cruise is scheduled to open on July 30 and the 2015 slate includes Terminator Genisys on July 2.
Lotte just handled the release last weekend of the time travel thriller Project Almanac (pictured).
“We very much look forward to beginning this long-term arrangement with Lotte and know that they will bring a tremendous amount of enthusiasm, along with their expert marketing and distribution capabilities, to every one of our upcoming films set for release in Korea,” said Paramount co-president of international theatrical marketing and distribution Mark Viane.
Lotte Entertainment CEO Won Chun Cha said: “We are delighted to partner with Paramount Pictures for the continued growth of its compelling franchise in Korea. I believe that together we will be in the best position to introduce more of Paramount’s exciting slate to local audiences. We are looking forward to a successful partnership over the years to come.”
