Phase 4 Films is moving into VOD distribution with the launch of Vidal Sassoon The Movie and SXSW hit thriller Brotherhood.
Both films will launch on VOD day-and-date with theatrical. Sassoon opens today [11] and Brotherhood will follow on Feb 18.
“As an independent film company in the year 2011, being in the video-on-demand space is an integral aspect of connecting our films with audiences,” Phase 4 President and CEO Berry Meyerowitz said.
“We still stand behind the theatrical model and believe for many of our films that it will always make sense. We also acknowledge that more and more people are now watching films on VOD at home.”
In the coming months Phase 4 will launch a slate of VOD world premieres as well as day-and-date VOD / DVD titles, including Emily Young’s Veronika Decides To Die with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Steve Austin action film Knockout.
