Film Movement has taken North American rights to The Piano In A Factory, the second feature film from Chinese film-maker Zhang Men.
In Mandarin with English subtitles, the film tells the comedic story of an often unemployed divorced father who tries to win custody of his only daughter by building her a piano from scrap material with the help of his misfit friends.
The film will open theatrically in New York in the summer followed by a limited national roll-out as well as day-and-date VOD launch.
Film Movement president Adley Gartenstein and vp of acquisitions and distribution Rebeca Conget negotiated the deal with Carrie Wong and Lammy Li of Golden Network Asia.
