The project is based on US author Brian Keene’s bestseller set in the present day about an evil satyr. Production is set to begin in spring 2013

Chameleon Pictures’ Paul Campion presented Dark Hollow at Fantasia’s inaugural Frontières International Co-Production Market alongside producers Daniel Warwick and Leanne Saunders.

US and Canada-based Raven Banner’s Andrew Hunt, James Fler and Michael Paszt pounced on the project and negotiated a deal with the producers.

New Zealand’s Weta Workshop will handle the effects. “When I read the book I knew that I and our team at Weta would want to play a big part in bringing it to life as a feature film,” said Weta Workshop head Richard Taylor.
