EXCLUSIVE: Musical Romeo and Juliet: A Love Song has been sold to Recidive SAS for France.

The deal was negotiated by Jerry Bellamy, president of Recidive and Gary Phillips, MD of UK sales outfit Moviehouse Entertainment.

The New Zealand musical update, currently in post-production, stars Christopher Landon [pictured] and Derya Perlak.

Bellamy said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to get Romeo and Juliet A Love Song and with it being a rock, rap and pop opera and having its’ modern contemporary setting, believe it to be a totally unique take on Shakespeare’s classic’.

Phillips said: ‘We’re really happy Recidive are doing Romeo and Juliet A Love Song in France and think they’ll know exactly how to handle this wonderful movie’.
