Ali Samadi Ahadi’s hard-hitting documentary premiered at Sundance and Red Flag plans a theatrical release in June 2012 to mark the third anniversary of the Iranian elections.
Jan Krueger and Oliver Stoltz produced The Green Wave, which documents the populist uprising in Iran known as The Green Revolution that sprung up in summer 2009 in the wake of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s disputed polls victory over the progressive candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi.
The distribution plan includes VoD, DVD and digital. Visit Film’s Ryan Kampe is handing international sales and negotiated the deal with Red Flag Releasing’s Paul Federbush.
”The Green Wave is the most personal film I have ever made,” Ahadi said. “It deals with a theme that I have followed closely over the past two years (even in my dreams) and influences my everyday life.”
