CEO Roman Kopelevich will launch sales on the Croisette on the horror-thriller from Bazelevs.
Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin wrote the screenplay from an original idea by Bazelevs chief Timur Bekmambetov [pictured].
Squirrels tells of an infestation of flesh-eating vermin caused by a shift in the food chain due to the activities of a natural gas company in a troubled town.
The project is out to a director and cast. Lisa Ellzey and Michele Wolkoff are the executive producers.
“I am very appreciative of the opportunity to sell a Timur Bekmambetov-produced film this year,” said Kopelevich.
“Timur is a tremendous creative talent and it’s going to be a lot of fun for everyone involved, especially for the buyers, to be a part of this exciting project. Squirrels, like people, can seem very cute – until they get hungry.”
