Relativity Media has acquired US rights to Intrepid Pictures’ The Raven starring John Cusack.

James McTeigue directed the fictionalised account of the final days of gothic writer Edgar Allan Poe as he tracks a serial killer whose crimes mirror the writer’s literary works.

Luke Evans, Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Jackson-Cohen round out the cast. Ben Livingston and Hannah Shakespeare wrote the screenplay.

Intrepid’s Trevor Macy and Marc D Evans are producing alongside Aaron Ryder for FilmNation, who brought the project to Intrepid and is handling international sales.

Galavis Films’ Jesus Martinez is serving as executive producer. Production in Hungary and Serbia wrapped in January.
