EXCLUSIVE: UK distributor takes on a diverse range of four new titles, readies Gunslinger’s new marines action film.
Revolver Entertainment has confirmed several new acquisitions for UK distribution. They are John Stockwell’s diving action thriller Dark Tide starring Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, Tsui Hark’s Chinese-language 3D wuxia project Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, and Ciaran Foy’s SXSW hit genre title Citadel, about a man (Aneurin Barnard) trying to escape from a gang of feral children.
The company has also taken on Dominic Burns’ UK sci-fi action thriller UFO, about five friends facing anarchy as civilization breaks down. The film stars Jean-Claude Van Damme along with his daughter Bianca Bree as well as Sean Brosnan and Simon Phillips.
Revolver CEO Justin Marciano said: “We’re delighted to add these exciting new titles to our slate at Revolver. Going forward, we are working on acquiring more ambitious titles, such as these, to add to our already diverse and eclectic catalog.”
He added: “Festival audiences have responded really well to titles such as Citadel and Flying Swords Of Dragon Gate, and we are all really thrilled to be working on it, and give these titles the best possible launch in the UK.”
Meanwhile, Revolver’s production arm Gunslinger will follow its work with Ron Scalpello on Offender by producing his next film Bootneck, about young men going through 32 weeks of intense training to become marine commandos. IM Global will handle sales on the film and Gunslinger’s Nick Taussig will produce alongside Paul Van Carter.
Taussig said: “We are delighted to be working with Ron Scalpello again, who has showed such skill, assuredness and vision in his first feature, Offender.”
Bootneck will mark the sixth Gunslinger production.
