Screen Media has acquired worldwide rights to Horsethief Pictures’ graphic novel western The Last Rites Of Ransom Pride following its world premiere in Edinburgh.

Scott Speedman, Lizzy Caplan, Jon Foster, Cote de Pablo, Peter Dinklage, Dwight Yoakam, Jason Priestly, Kris Kristofferson and W Earl Brown star in the story of a woman who tries to bring her murdered outlaw lover home for burial. Screen Media plans an autumn theatrical release.

Tiller Russell directed and his Horsethief Pictures partner Duncan Montgomery produced alongside Nomadic Pictures of Alberta, Canada.

Screen Media Films president Robert Baruc, Screen Media Ventures vice-president of international sales and acquisitions Michael Dwyer, and Screen Media Ventures executive vice-president David T Fannon negotiated the deal with Montgomery.
