Shorts International, one of the leading short film entertainment companies, has launched the dedicated short film channel ShortsHD.
The channel will run on AT&T U-verseSM TV in the US and will broadcast shorts 24 hours a day in 30 and 60-minute blocks.
Content will be divided into thematic zones covering comedy, world cinema, genre, documentaries and festival hits, among others.
“We’re thrilled to be giving short movies a home in the US.” Shorts International chief executive Carter Pilcher said. “Our annual release of the Oscar-nominated short films in theatres and on iTunes has shown that shorts have a huge audience. Now they don’t have to wait for awards season.”
Standard definition channel ShortsTV is available in one million homes on Numericable’s cable systems in France, Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as in more than seven million homes in the UK on the Sky satellite platform.
