Other titles for the UK distributor include Tales of The Night and Petit Nicolas.
UK distributor Soda Pictures will launch a new children’s slate and has acquired Oscar-nominated animated film A Cat In Paris.
The story is about a young girl who discovers that her cat has a secret double life with a nocturnal jewel thief.
Soda plans an April 6 launch ahead of the Easter weekend.
The slate will also include Michel Ocelot’s 3D film Tales Of The Night released in late May, followed by Petit Nicolas in the summer.
The acquisitions were negotiated between Soda Pictures and Sebastien Beffa of Films Distribution for A Cat In Paris, Carole Baraton of Wild Bunch for Petit Nicolas and StudioCanal’s Anna Marsh for Tales of The Night.
Soda Head of Distribution Kate Gerova said: “All three films are quite different offerings but all are very charming and appeal to both parents and children alike. We are working with exhibitors to be very flexible with programmes to suit their local audiences and communities and where possible offering both dubbed and subtitled versions. We have looked closely at this market as it is quite commercially challenging but having great marketing partners onboard, we are confident now is the right time to launch.
