The sales arm of Soda Pictures has sold Grant Gee’s documentary to independent US distributor Cinema Guild.
Soda Pictures International has sold Patience (After Sebald) to independent US distributor Cinema Guild.
Directed by Grant Gee - who made the 2007 doc Joy Division - the documentary about writer WG Sebald had its US premiere at the New York Film Festival and will go on to have its European premiere at the Copenhagen Documentary Festival this week.
Cinema Guild plans to release in the US in the spring, opening at the Film Forum on April 25.
Edward Fletcher, Soda Pictures managing director said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Cinema Guild on the release of Grant Gee’s extraordinary film. We’ll co-ordinate our releases in early 2012 and look forward to welcoming additional territories after our European market premiere at CPH:DOX”.
Soda Pictures International is the sales arm of UK-based distributor Soda Pictures. Other titles on their sales slate include Jamie Thraves’ comedy Treacle Jnr, starring Aidan Gillen, and Michael Whyte’s Relic & Roses.
Soda Pictures will release Patience (After Sebald) in the UK in January.
