South Korea’s CJ Entertainment has come on board as a co-financier and is planning a wide 2010 release in South Korea of the English-language animated feature film Dino Mom being sold by Myriad Pictures.
Myriad will screen select scenes for buyers at the AFM next month.
John Kafka and Yoon S Choi directed and David K Lovegren and Jae Woo Park produced in association with Toiion, Inc. and Motif RMC. The film is currently in post-production in South Korea.
The story chronicles the adventures of three curious children who accidentally time travel back in time 65million years to the nest of a T-Rex who accepts them as her own.
Pamela Adlon, Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Strong are among the key voice cast.
“The film has a great story, amazing animation and being kind of project that is supported by merchandising and promotions, we see many, many opportunities,” CJ Entertainment CEO Katharine Kim said.
CJ Entertainment’s head of international Mike Suh handled negotiations with Joon B Heo of Toiion Inc and Jae Moh of Motif RMC.
“CJ Entertainment’s involvement in Dino Mom is a huge vote of confidence for the film,” Myriad CEO and president Kirk D’Amico said. “We look forward to working closely with them and the other partners throughout all stages of marketing and distribution.”
