The distributor of Woody Allen’s last six films has acquired North American rights to his latest comedy from Gravier Productions bearing the new title Irrational Man.

The parties’ eighth collaboration stars previously announced Jamie Blackley, Joaquin Phoenix, Parker Posey and Emma Stone. 

Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson produce. Filmnation handles international sales.

“Sony Classics and I have a good working relationship,” said Allen. “I like the way they handle my movies; very special, very classy and I always hope my films live up to their expectations.”

Sony Pictures Classics added: “Woody Allen’s new movie Irrational Man, his latest annual gift to movie-goers everywhere, is as fresh and winning as ever.”
