Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) has acquired all worldwide media rights from Alexandros Film for the upcoming Greek feature God Loves Caviar.

Yannis Smaragdis will direct the story of a Greek pirate turned businessman who made a fortune selling caviar in Russia.

SPHE plans a 2012 release. The company shares the distribution rights for God Loves Caviar in Greece and Cyprus with Feelgood Entertainment and is the only US major operating in the Greek home entertainment market.

It also distributes content for Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Universal Home Entertainment on Blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms.
