Brian O’Shea announced on Wednesday [9] that the company had finalised a multi-territory distribution deal with Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE).
Negotiations started during the AFM last November and closed at the end of 2012. UPIE will distribute the thriller in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, India, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia.
O’Shea [pictured] and Max Leeds negotiated the deal with Jasper van Hecke and Oliver Leyden of UPIE.
Thin Ice stars Greg Kinnear as a duplicitous insurance broker who teams up with his estranged wife in an effort to con an elderly man out of a rare violin. Alan Arkin and Billy Crudup round out the cast and Jill Sprecher directed.
The Exchange recently celebrated its one-year anniversary and heads into Sundance with Killer Films’ Magic Magic from Sebastian Silva, on which 6 Sales also serves as international sales agent.
The Exchange’s Park City slate includes The Spectacular Now starring Shailene Woodley.
