Andrew Herwitz has acquired US sales rights to Dylan Nelson and Dan Sturman’s film ahead of its premiere this weekend at Hot Docs in Toronto.

The film follows several children and their families who move to Hollywood for TV pilot casting season.

Herwitz has also closed a UK deal with Channel 4 on The Redemption Of General Butt Naked, which is also bound for Toronto.

The film follows a Christian evangelist preacher and former Liberian warlord on his mission to atone for horrendous acts during the West African country’s civil war. The Film Sales Company reports that other buyers are circling the project, which premiered at Sundance.

The Hot Docs slate includes worldwide rights on Family Portrait In Black And White and Carol Channing: Larger Than Life, which has attracted a great deal of buyer interest at Tribeca.

Hot Docs runs from Apr 28-May 8.
