EXCLUSIVE: Code Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group are understood to be co-financing the art heist project that the latter will bring to the Cannes market.

Director Philip Martin is set to begin shooting The Forger in August. Code’s Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso will produce alongside Prospect Park’s Rob Carliner. 

Jonathan Dana and Randi Michel serve as executive producers with The Solution principals Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson. Siren Studio’s Craig Chapman, Kyle Jackson and Brandon Nutt also serve as executive producers.

Travolta will star as an imprisoned petty thief and former art prodigy who learns that his son is seriously ill and asks a favour of a former boxer turned businessman.

In order to get out of prison early, Travolta’s character must steal Renoir’s Lady At The Piano from the Museum Of Fine Art and replace it with an exact replica. Richard D’Ovidio wrote the screenplay.

WME Global packaged the project and will handle US sales with ICM Partners.
