EXCLUSIVE: The Works UK Distribution will release Terry Hooley biopic Good Vibrations, which opened the Karlovy Vary and Belfast film festivals.
The Canderblinks-Revolution-Treasure Entertainment co-production with BBC Films, the IFB and Northern Ireland Screen, is the story of Belfast music legend Terri Hooley, played by Richard Dormer (Five Minutes of Heaven).
The well-received biopic recently opened the Belfast and Karlovy Vary film festivals and plays at the Galway Film Fleadh on July 14. The Works International handles sales.
Hooley is a Belfast record store owner who also founded a record label and is hailed as Belfast’s ‘Godfather of Punk.’

Lisa Barros D’Sa (Cherrybomb) and Glenn Leyburn direct from a script by Glenn Patterson and Colin Carberry. Chris Martin, Andrew Eaton, Bruno Charlesworth and David Holmes, who also supervised the music, produce. Rock band Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Jonny Quinn and Nathan Connelly are executive producers.
