TLA Releasing has acquired all UK rights from Wide Management to Enrique Buchichio’s Uruguayan film Leo’s Room (pictured) and Jose Campusano’s Vile Romance from Argentina.
The films are set for 2010 release in the UK and were signed at the inaugural Ventana Sur market in Buenos Aires. DVD and VOD will follow in the summer.
Leo’s Room tells the story of a young man played by Martin Rodriguez who comes to terms with his sexuality.
Vile Romance is about a young man who forms a strange and often violent sexual relationship with a tough 50-year-old man played by Nehuen Zapata
“These two independent films are exciting examples of the new wave of South American filmmaking – intense, controversial, and well acted, with modern themes that speak to a young international audience,” TLA Releasing president Raymond Murray said.
Murray and Jennifer Arndt-Johns brokered the deals with Loic Magneron on behalf of Wide Management.
