TLA Releasing has acquired US and UK rights to Baldvin Z’s Icelandic teen drama Jitters (Oroi). The film is based on the novels of Ingibjorg Reynisdottir and follows the lives of youngsters as they deal with sexuality and identity.
“This fresh, Skins-esque coming-of-age ensemble drama fits perfectly within TLA’s catalogue and genuinely represents the very best of gay cinema in 2011,” TLA president Derek Curl said.
Raven Banner managing director Michael Paszt brokered the deal with TLA UK operations manager Adam Silver on behalf of producers Ingvar Thordarson and Julius Kemp of the Icelandic Film Company.
