In a sign of the times, Universal Pictures announced on Wednesday [17] that Mark Link will retire from his role as vp of print control in January 2014 after 38 years with the studio.
Current vp of business development and strategic planning Noah Bergman will succeed Link in the newly created position of vp of content services for domestic distribution, reporting to distribution president Nikki Rocco.
Link began his career at Universal in 1975 as a booker in the office at Jacksonville, Florida. He become vp of print control in 1999 and oversaw the transition from 35mm print to digital distribution.
“Throughout his career at Universal, [Link] has made wonderful contributions in many areas of distribution,” said Rocco.
In his new role Bergman will oversee both feature film fulfilment and content delivery strategy.
