Indomina Releasing continues to bulk up its initial distribution slate with US rights to the action title.

First-timer Le Thanh Son directed for production company Chanh Phuong Co and the film stars Johnny Tri Nguyen, Ngo Thanh Van and Hoang Phuc. Nguyen, Son and Ho Quang Hung wrote the screenplay.

Jimmy Nghiem Pham, Nguyen and Veronica Ngo Thanh Van produced and Rich Long Nguyen, Tawny Nguyen, Ryan Hoang Hubris, Alex Vo and Carson Vo served as executive producers.

Clash follows a female mercenary tasked to recover a stolen hard drive containing codes to Vietnam’s first satellite before it gets sold to Chinese gangsters.

The film was released in Vietnam as Bayrong and became the country’s highest grossing local release of 2009 on more than $1m. It premiered at Tribeca and then Sitges in Spain.

Indomina Releasing’s vice-president of acquisitions Rob Williams negotiated the deal with XYZ Films’ Nate Bolotin on behalf of the film-makers.
