Bess Kargman’s ballet documentary First Position has gone to Artificial Eye in the UK, Eurozoom in France and Edko in Hong Kong, Visit chief Ryan Kampe announced on Monday (27).
The film follows a group of young dancers from the around the world as they train for one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world. It recently grossed more than $1m in the US through IFC Films.
Ramona Diaz’s Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey sold recently to King Records in Japan, Senator in Germany and Penny Black Media for airlines.
It premiered at Tribeca and tells of Filipino musician Arnel Pineda (pictured) and his rise from down-at-heel amateur cover-band singer to lead singer of the American rock band Journey after he is spotted in a YouTube video.
