Video Services Corp has acquired from FilmBuff exclusive rights to Adam Carolla’s upcoming comedy.

Road Hard is inspired by Adam Carolla’s experiences and tells of a stand-up comedian desperate to kick-start his career.

Jay Mohr, Howie Mandel, David Koechner, Diane Farr, David Alan Grier and Illeana Douglas star.

The film will open in Toronto on April 10 day-and-date with VOD and digital ahead of a theatrical expansion into other cities.

“We’re thrilled to be distributing this film in Canada and to be working with FilmBuff again,” said VSC president Jonathan Gross. “We have worked on a lot of stand-up comedy releases and we’re excited to be involved with one of this quality.”

Gross brokered the deal with Scott Kaplan of FilmBuff.
