The Asian cinema specialist picked up North American rights to four films from Hong Kong’s Emperor Motion Pictures.
Chinese hit Let The Bullets Fly stars Chow Youn-fat and Jiang Wen.
The other titles are Shaolin starring Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse, Fan Bingbing and Jackie Chan; The Stool Pigeon starring Tse and Nick Cheung; and Triple Tap starring Louis Koo, Daniel Wu, Charlene Choi and Li Bingbing.
“We are pleased to have made this deal with Emperor Motion Pictures, one of the premiere producers of top-level Asian films in China and Hong Kong, and even more excited to bring these thrilling films to passionate new fans,” Well Go USA Entertainment president Doris Pfardrescher said.
“This acquisition solidifies our position as the leading distributor of Asian films to the North American market.”
“This is a perfect partnership in terms of talent and resources,” Emperor CEO Albert Lee said. “With Well Go’s track record, we are confident that these films which have done so well in our home territory will now enjoy a much wider Western audience base.”
