Macky Alston’s Outfest entry earned a special jury prize at the festival’s closing ceremony in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Wolfe Video will release in the US on DVD and VoD in 2013 following a deal with Cinephil.

Love Free Or Die follows Bishop Gene Robinson after he was ordained by the New Hampshire Episcopal Church as the church’s first openly gay bishop. 

“Bishop Gene Robinson is an amazing example of how one man can create big change in the world,” Wolfe president Maria Lynn said. “This film is one of the most inspirational stories I’ve ever seen.”
