IMAX, Paramount and financing partner Skydance Productions announced on Tuesday that the zombie thriller World War Z will be digitally re-mastered into IMAX and released on Jun 20 in Australia and Hong Kong.

Further day-and-date territory releases are expected to be announced shortly.

The Brad Pitt vehicle, made in association with Hemisphere Media Capital and GK Films, will open in North America on Jun 21. Marc Forster directed.

“Brad Pitt is a global icon who has captivated moviegoers for years,” said IMAX Entertainment chairman and president Greg Foster. “We’re thrilled that World War Z is his first IMAX release and look forward to his fans having the opportunity to experience it in the world’s most immersive format.”
