Iranian revolution documentary screens today in Edinburgh.
UK distributor Dogwoof has taken on Ali Samadi Ahadi’s The Green Wave. Visit Films handles international sales.
The film has its UK premiere today at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and will be released later this year.
The story is about demonstrators during Iran’s 2010 Green Revolution, and how they used new media such as blogging and Twitter to help their cause.
Dreamer Joint Venture produced.
Dogwoof founder Andy Whittaker said: “The Green Wave takes over where films like Waltz with Bashir and Persepolis left off; I love how it incorporates the comments from blogs and Twitter into the film and uses these, as well as great animation and sound, to explore the recent uprising in Iran. This film shines a light to show how the protests and uprisings in the Arab world are taking shape in a new way.”
