International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) director Rutger Wolfson is taking a break from his festival duties for at least the next month as he recovers from an autoimmune disease.
Mart Dominicus will temporarily replace Rutger Wolfson as an artistic director.
Dominicus is a lecturer at the Netherlands Film Academy and well as a screenplay and editing coach. He was an IFFR programmer from 1991 to 1994 and has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2010.
Festival business director Janneke Staarink confirmed the news and reassured that the planning and foundations for this year’s festival are very solid.
