Sales agent EastWest Filmdistribution has picked upinternational rights to the Bosnian documentary Totally Personal, whichhas just been nominated as that country's entry for the Academy Awards in theforeign film category.
TheLondon-based sales company has also nabbed international rights to Edinburghtitle The Wedding, a black comedy directed by Poland's WojtekSmarzowski. It also received a special mention by the jury at this summer'sKarlovy Vary festival and The Wedding has also been shortlisted for theEFA Best European Film Award.
TotallyPersonal,directed by Nedzad Begovic, is a documentary feature about the 47-year-oldfilm-maker's experiences of growing up in Bosnia. Premiered at Tribeca inApril, it is set to launch in Europe in November at the Cottbus Film Festivalin Germany. EastWest is selling Totally Personal with anEnglish-language voiceover by the director.
East West, which specialises in European and independentfilms, was set up last year by Alexander Wieser and Steve Walsh; also on itsslate is Mirage, A Wonderful Night in Split and Last Soviet Movie.With the sales team based in London, the company's head office is in Austriawith another branch in Los Angeles.
