Echo Bridge Entertainment has hired Sonia Mehandjiyska as vice-president of international sales for Eastern Europe, the latest of four appointments this year designed to bolster the company’s sales ranks.
Mehandjiyska reports to executive vice-president Dan March and previously served as director of international sales at MRG Inc where she handled titles from the distribution subsidiaries Lightning Entertainment and Mainline Releasing.
Prior to that she was director of international sales for Gibraltar International and Alain Siritzky Productions.
Echo Bridge’s Cannes slate includes three new titles screening in the market. Inhale stars Dermot Mulroney, Diane Kruger and Sam Shepherd; American Virgin stars Rob Schneider and Jenna Dewan; and My Life In Ruins features Nia Vardalos and Richard Dreyfuss.
Earlier this year, Echo Bridge appointed Natalie Yuen to the newly created position of vice-president of international sales for the Asia-Pacific region; Melissa Caron to vice-president of international sales for Europe; and Emilia Nuccio to vice-president of international sales with a focus on Latin America and US Hispanic market.
“Our strategic goal since the acquisition of Alliance Atlantis International Distribution last year has been to appoint talented executives with considerable expertise in key regional markets to represent our company,” March said. “Each of our new executives is keenly aware of the film and television content requirement of clients in their regions.”
