Yüksel Aksu’s Ecotopia has been named Best Film at the 23rd Ankara International Film Festival.
Aksu also won the award for Best Director and Best Screenplay at the festival in the Turkish capital. The film centres around a group of city intellectuals who occupy themselves with organic farming and environmental tourism.
Another big winner was Ramin Matin’s Monsters’ Dinner, which picked up the SİYAD Jury National Feature Film Special Award, as well as Best Supporting Actress for Gizem Erdem and Best Director of Photography for Deniz Eyüboğlu Aydın.
In Flames won both acting prizes, with Nesrin Cavadzade and Osman Sonant being named Best Actress and Actor respectively.
The winners were chosen by a jury which included Professor Sami Sekeroğlu, filmmaker Çiğdem Vitrinel and film critic Doğan Sarıgüzel.
The awards were presented at the festival’s closing ceremony at theMEB Sura Festival Hall in Ankara.
