Cairo-set film will screen in IFFR’s Bright Future section.
The International Film Festival Rotterdam has added a new film to its programme as of this morning.
Egyptian feature 678, directed by Mohamed Diab, has been added to the Bright Future section. It will be the film’s European premiere in Rotterdam, after the film won two acting prizes (for Maged El Kedwany and Bushra) at the Dubai International Film Festival.

The festival is also screening another Egyptian-Qatari feature, Ibrahim El Batout’s Hawi, which was supported by Rotterdam’s Hubert Bals Fund. El Batout and his producer Hossam Elouan are also presenting their next project Ali, The Goat, here at CineMart.
Hawi, part of Rotterdam’s Spectrum programme, also screens on Feb 2, with Batout in attendance for a Q&A.
