The US Dramatic Competition entry received its world premiere here on January 18 and stars Daniels as the remote author of an iconic book about spirituality who falls for a chiropractor. Kat Dennings, Lou Taylor Pucci and Olivia Thirlby also star.
Arlen Faber was financed by iDeal Partner's Film Fund and produced by Kevin Messick and iDeal's Jana Edelbaum in association with 120 dB Films. Agnes Mentre negotiated the deal on behalf of Elle Driver.
'Arlen Faber was a completely unique and clever script that grabbed our attention and compelled us to finance and produce it, and we could not be more thrilled with the outcome,' Edelebaum said. 'We look forward to collaborating with our friends at Elle Driver on international sales.'
Eva Diederix and Adeline Fontan Tessau from Elle Driver said: 'We are very excited to work with Jana Edelbaum and Rachel Cohen at iDeal on the international release of this witty and profound film. It's a perfect addition to our diverse and exciting slate.'
Elle Driver acquired international right to R J Cutler's documentary The September Issue earlier in the festival.
