The 21st Women In Film And Television Awards took place today in London, with other winners including producer Andrea Calderwood and Jane Frazer.
British comedian Victoria Wood was honoured today with the Women in Film and Television lifetime achievement award for her contribution to the industry.
She was presented with her award by British actress Imelda Staunton at the 21st annual Women in Film and TV awards ceremony which took place at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel in London today.
The gltizy ceremony, attended by 1,000 industry guests celebrating the year’s most inspiring women, was hosted by TV comedian Miranda Hart.
Oranges And Sunshine and Breaking The Waves actress Emily Watson was honoured with the Best Performance Award for her turn in ITV drama Appropriate Adult.
The Envy Producer’s Award went to Last King Of Scotland producer Andrea Calderwood, who produced the recent TV drama one-off I Am Slave. She was presented her award by broadcaster Edith Bowman.
Tim Bevan presented the International Film Guarantors Project Management Award to production executive Jane Frazer, with whom he co-produced Atonement and Pride And Prejudice for Working Title.
The Skillset Inspirational Woman Award went to London theatre school founder Anna Scher, whilst the Technicolour Writing Award was shared by Jo Brand, Joanna Scanlan and Vicki Pepperdine.
BBC Controller Janice Hadlow received the Littlestar Contribution to the Medium Award for her work in compiling dramas including The Hour and Fantabulosa.
Comedian Sue Perkins won the BBC News and Factual award for her work on one of the TV hits of 2011, The Great British Bake Off.
“This is a truly an exceptional year for the Sky Women in Film and TV Awards! Not only do we have a record number of awards -14 this year - but we actually have a total of 18 winners. And what a terrific array of creativity, talent, drive and sheer determination they have,” said WFTV CEO Kate Kinninmont.
“Every single one of our winners is an inspiration to all of us in the business. More power to them each and every one!”
