Hong Kong-based Emperor Motion Pictures (EMP) will be launching sales on That Demon Within, a cop thriller from leading action director Dante Lam, at the upcoming AFM.

The film is a follow-up to Lam’s Beast Stalker and Stool Pigeon, which starred Nick Cheung and Nicholas Tse. Cheung will again star in the third installment, playing an escaped convict, while Daniel Wu plays a paranoid cop convinced he is the only one witnessing crimes committed by Cheung’s character.

Principal photography will start this winter for an anticipated release in summer 2013.

“The collaboration between Nick, Nicholas and Dante has been a really successful one but we’re pleased to offer the audience a new twist by teaming Nick up with a new partner. I think viewers will find the new chemistry refreshing as well as exciting,” said EMP CEO Albert Lee.

EMP is also producing and handling sales on Fung Chih-chiang’s The Midas Touch, set in the world of pop stars and show business. Currently in production, the film stars local comedian Chapman To as a hardened debt collector who impulsively buys a modeling agency after taking pity on the five models signed on to it.

EMP’s AFM slate also includes Angry Kid, directed by Huang Lei and starring six-year-old YouTube dance sensation Yiming Wang; Daniel Chan’s gangster film Triad, starring Patrick Tam and William Chan, and period mystery thriller The Bullet Vanishes (pictured), which stars Lau Ching-wan and Nicholas Tse.
