eOne Films Canada has picked up three titles in Cannes, taking rights to Little Prince from WildBunch, Somnia from Sierra Affinity and Viral from Blumhouse International.
“It’s been a very active market and we’re thrilled to secure these three great films for Canadian audiences,” said eOne Films Canada president Bryan Gliserman. “It’s exciting to partner on these highly coveted projects.”
Mark Osborne directs Little Prince, based on the children’s classic featuring the voice cast of James Franco, Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Benicio Del Toro and Paul Giamatti.
Onyx Films’ Aton Soumache and Dimitri Rassam produce and eOne plans a wide Thanksgiving 2016. Paramount holds US rights.
Intrepid Pictures’ supernatural thriller Somnia from Mike Flanagan stars Kate Bosworth (pictured) and Thomas Jane. Demarest Films and MICA Entertainment financed the film and Intrepid’s Trevor Macy and Demarest’s Sam Englebardt and William D Johnson produced.
eOne has earmarked a wide release in early 2015 and Relativity will distribute in the US.
Viral stars Sophia Black De’lia and Analeigh Tipton and the directors are the Catfish team of Henry Joost and Ariel Shulman. TWC holds US rights.
Jason Blum produces the IM Global and Blumhouse Productions horror tale with Matt Kaplan and Sherryl Clark.
