Early 2013 theatrical launch planned.
Entertainment One has acquired all North American rights to Matthew Miele’s documentary Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s.
The deal was negotiated by Bob Berney, Berney Films’ CEO with Sejin Croninger, VP Worldwide Acquisitions for eOne.
William Fichtner narrates the project, which includes interviews with Joan Rivers, Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Christian Louboutin and Marc Jacobs.
The film celebrates the 111th anniversary of the iconic New York store, and includes contributions from the Goodman family and Bergdorf’s longtime employees including fashion director Linda Fargo and window designer David Hoey.
“We’re thrilled to add Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s to our lineup in the US and Canada. It’s a creative and charming behind-the-scenes look at an American institution featuring some of today’s most established personalities,” said Dylan Wiley, VP Theatrical Marketing & Distribution, eOne Films US.
An early 2013 theatrical launch is planned in North America.
The news of the North American deal follows the announcement last week that Fortissimo has come on board to handle international rights.
