Eric Roth will receive the 2013 Kanbar Award for excellence in screenwriting at the 56th San Francisco International Film Festival, set to run from Apr 25-May 9.
The award will be presented to Roth at Film Society Awards Night on May 7. The following night the writer will take part in an on-stage conversation followed by a screening of The Insider.
His credits include Forrest Gump, for which he won an Oscar, as well as Munich, Ali, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button [pictured] and The Horse Whisperer.
The Award is named after longtime Film Society board member Maurice Kanbar and previous recipients include James Schamus, James Toback and Peter Morgan.
