Europa International is planning its first network conference to be held at the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel Hotel on Nov 24.
The theme is From Pipedreams to Pipebusiness, and it will focus on exchange of experiences between Europe and the US about new ways of distributing and promoting films.
There is one panel on social media marketing and another about new platforms and VOD.
The conference is part of The Match Factory’s Distribution 2.0 project (TMF’s Michael Weber is Europa International’s president), funded by MEDIA Mundus.
At the end of the conference afternoon there will be a work-in-progress presentation from Distribution 2.0 led by Jenny Walendy from TMF.
The event is preceeded on Nov 23 by a closed meeting of Europa International’s General Assembly.
Speakers on the day include Ted Hope of the San Francisco Film Society, Rose Kuo and Eugene Hernandez of the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Yan Vizinberg from Cinecliq, Dan Light of Glass Eye, Ryan Werner from IFC Films/Sundance Selects, Ram Murali from Cinetic, Marieke Jonker from Amstel Films, Richard Lorber from Kino Lorber and Peter Bognar of Cinefil.
