There was news to celebrate at today’s Europa Cinemas Network Meeting in Cannes, with the network’s 710 cinemas reporting 59% of their screenings to European films in 2009 (a 4% increased from 2008). That was 36% of totals comprising non-national European films.

An overall total of 59m European viewers (an increase from 55 million in 2008) went to cinemas belonging to the Europa Cinemas / MEDIA Network in 2009.
