The European Producers Club (EPC) has announced the election of a new board of directors. In their posts for the next two years are: Jean Cazes (Initial Productions, France), Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre (MACT, France), Patrick Quniet (Artemis Productions, Belgium), Antonio Saura (Zebra Producciones, Spain) and Ruth Waldburger (Vega Film, Switzerland). The executive committee is comprised of Jean Cazes as president, Constantin's Martin Moszkowicz as vice president and UGC YM's Yves Marmion as treasurer.

The EPC also announced the signing of a memo deal between Mascara Film and Josef Steinberger from Rheingold Films on Mascara Film's $16m (Euros 12m) project The El Escorial Conspiracy, directed by Antonio del Real. Both Mascara and Rheingold took part in the Canes Co-production Forum last month.

The agreement followed the new format of the EPC 's Co-production Forums which sees a reduced selection of projects to ensure that producers presenting their films will have the most appropriate meetings.

Since its inception in 1993, the EPC has helped foster cooperation between film professionals. Twenty countries are now represented in the EPC and the organization will this year put together five Co-production Forums in Europe and three in China, Japan and India.
