Germany's Entertainment Value Associates (EVA) has secured international distribution rights to Jean-Louis Guillermou's biopic Antonio Vivaldi, Un Prince A Venise which will have its gala world premiere tonight in Paris ' in the presence of a VIP audience including French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The French-Italian co-production by Dream Film, M.A.D. Films and Vivaldi Productions stars Stefano Dionisi as Vivaldi, heading a cast including Michel Galabru, Delphine Depardieu, Annette Schreiber, Christian Vadim and the late Michel Serrault in his last role as the Bishop of Venice.
Distributor CQFD will open the film in French cinemas tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the life of the Venetian composer is set to be the subject of another feature film to be directed by Boris Damast from the end of this year with Joseph Fiennes, Carice van Houten, Gerard Depardieu and Jacqueline Bisset in the cast.
